Identifying Attachment in the Therapy Room
Join us in person for a practical training all about identifying attachment patterns in your therapy sessions.
Charissa Lopez, LPC-S, specializes in educating clinicians on Attachment Patterns while providing immensely practical applications.
OBJECTIVES:
1) Conceptualize how attachment exists on a spectrum based on the categories found in the Adult Attachment Interview and The Strange Situation- both empirically validated attachment measures.
2) Learn how to identify Attachment Patterns in clients by noting their linguistics, state of mind, coherence, narrative, and content during counseling sessions.
3) Understand the nuances of each Attachment Pattern (beyond the pop-psychology versions). Attachment is richer and more complex than the binaries of Pursuer/Withdrawer or Anxious/Avoidant. By gaining a deeper understanding of what the empirical evidence shows for each pattern, clinicians become more targeted and effective in treatment.
4) Learn specific interventions for each patter for the purpose of treatment planning and facilitating deeper shifts and healing for clients with insecure attachment patterns.
Charissa Lopez specializes in making challenging concepts easy to understand without sacrificing accuracy and depth. She also greatly emphasizes making concepts practical. At this training, you will receive high-quality infographics for each attachment pattern that clarify complex concepts without over-simplifying the science. She designed these infographics to help guide clinicians in identifying patterns and using effective interventions. Therapists can also use the infographics with their clients.
This training is a great chance to deepen your understanding on attachment science and sharpen your therapeutic skills in a relaxed, interactive setting. Whether you're new or experienced, you'll walk away with fresh insights and practical tools. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect and learn!
