About this Event
We want you to get as much out of your psychiatry placement as possible and are therefore pleased to invite you to book onto this half day simulation-based workshop comprising 3 modules.
We hope that this workshop will develop and improve your confidence in mental health and give you transferable skills to use in your future careers.
Each module incorporates a focused interactive tutorial around a theme followed by guided simulation to provides opportunities to practice the relevant skills and knowledge followed by a discussion and feedback.
Topics covered will include:
- Emotionally unstable personality disorder.
- Learning disability and autism.
- Cognitive Impairment
- Risk assessment including deliberate self-harm, suicidal ideation, aggression and safeguarding concerns and considerations.
It is intended that by the end of the course you will have an improved working knowledge around these areas and develop improved skills and confidence in communication and management of patients with mental illness.
