Idaho Women's Day

Women of Courage – Be Strong Be Resilient Be Mighty

Idaho Women’s Day was created to honor the influence, impact, and importance of women in Idaho’s past, present, and future. March 14 was chosen because on March 14, 1891, Idaho’s first State Legislature adopted the Great Seal of the State of Idaho, designed by Emma Edwards Green—the only woman to design a state seal. It’s a meaningful part of our history and a reminder of the vital role women have always played in shaping our state. It is a celebration honoring women in Idaho past, present, and future, welcoming women from all walks of life while highlighting the positive contributions women continue to make across communities throughout the state.

This event is proudly nonpartisan. It is simply a celebration of women’s strength, resilience, creativity, leadership, and community.

From 12:00–1:00 PM, we’ll enjoy live music from Jenny Hurst, Rebecca Scott, Michelle Coleman, Patricia Daley, and the Boise Women’s Choir.

From 1:00–2:00 PM, we’ll hear from an inspiring group of speakers:

  • Muffy Davis – former Idaho State Representative, seven-time Paralympic medalist, world champion, U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame inductee, U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Hall of Fame inductee, world adventurer, and mother.
  • Anna Sparrell –  Boise native, business leader, and community advocate who serves as Vice President of CM Company, one of Idaho’s long-standing commercial construction firms. Sparrell brings more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Reham Aarti – an Arab American mosaic artist, activist, author, and mother of two whose work celebrates resilience, cultural identity, and community. Reham is deeply committed to using art as a tool for connection and healing, including founding a 17-year program bringing mosaic workshops to children at St. Luke’s Hospital.

2:00–3:00 PM, Artist Fair from 12:00–3:00 PM, highlighting talented women creators in our community.
