The Liberty on Parade, hosted by the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce, kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 4. The largest Independence Day parade in Idaho features local businesses, classic cars, and community floats, culminating in a festive route through the city. Route Details:
Start: Near Idaho Falls High School at the intersection of 4th Street and Freeman Avenue. Path: Travels west on 4th Street to South Boulevard, turning south. End: Concludes at Rogers Street near Tautphaus Park.
Event Highlights & Safety:
Food Bank Drive: Mayor Casper, City Council members, and volunteers walk the route with a vintage Farr's Candy fire truck to collect donations for the Community Food Basket. Traffic & Closures: Surrounding roads and intersections (including South Holmes Avenue and South Boulevard) typically close starting at 9 a.m. or as the parade reaches specific zones. Expect heavy foot traffic and congestion. Airspace & Rules: No personal fireworks, alcohol, or personal drones are allowed along the parade route or at the subsequent festivities.
