About this Event
The International Conference on Middle English started in the mid-90s as a bi-/triennial conference and has been organised by leading universities in the field of the history of English across Europe (PoznaĆ, Helsinki, Dublin, Vienna, Naples, Cambridge, Lviv, Murcia, Wroclaw, Stavanger, Florence).
This year the conference will take place on 22-24 August at the University of Glasgow, which has particular strengths in Middle English and Middle Scots as well as the world-class Special Collections and the Hunterian Museum.
ICOME gathers researchers working on broadly conceived Middle English from various perspectives including linguistic variation, textual and manuscript studies, literary and philological approaches.

Prof. Jeremy Smith (Honorary Senior Research Fellow, University of Glasgow)
Prof. Elaine Treharne (Roberta Bowman Denning Professor, Stanford University).
