About this Event
Bath has a good claim to being the most beautiful city in Britain. Not a boast that's easily made but cime along and see what you think!
It was the ancient Celts that first discovered the natural springs that still see a million litres of water at 46C gush from the ground to this day, the only hot springs in Britain. But it was the Romans that harnessed their power, building a vast bathing complex which remained the wonderr of britain for nearly four centuries.
After the Romans left, their works were largely forgotten and Bath became and important ecclesiastical and wool-trading city.
But it was in the Georgian periods that "Beau" Nash and ofthers made Bath the place to be seen, leading to the construction of a magnificent new city whose terraces, squares and crescents make it the awe-inspiring metropolis that it is today, drawing visitors from all over the world.
Out of season is definitiely the best time to see Bath, too, hence the date!
