I Wrote That! Author Talk: Michael Griffin

Michael Griffin, a lifelong resident and Crosby graduate, is the author of three books recounting Waterbury history.
His books — A Pictorial History of H.S. Chase Elementary School, The Great Breathing Place of the City: A History of Hamilton Park in Waterbury, and Hoop History: Fifty Years of High School Boys Basketball in Waterbury — involved years of research and have each received glowing reviews.
Most recently, in the fall of 2024 Mike launched a quarterly magazine Waterbury History highlighting the people, places and events that have gained fame in the city over the past 350 years.
Mike's career in journalism includes the past ten years as an editor with the Republican-American, where his articles have won honors from the New England Newspaper and Press Association and the Connecticut chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
