About this Event

I Want a Better Catastrophe: re-imagining ourselves and places we love for the age of climate crisis

Recent headlines are full of unprecedented floods, storms, and droughts across the globe, and scientists are clear that a heating climate is fueling these devastating events. The 2024 State of the Climate report warns: "This is a global emergency beyond any doubt. Much of the very fabric of life on Earth is imperiled."

But what does this mean for you, your loved ones, and the places you call home here in Scotland?

Join Kaska Hempel and Joana Avi-Lorie from the Scottish Communities Climate Action Networkโ€™s Story Weavers team for an immersive exploration of the effects of climate crisis and the steps we need to take to adapt in our communities.

Through creative zine-making, you'll have the opportunity to express your experiences, thoughts and feelings, and contribute to a collective zine for the Glasgow Zine Library and SCCAN collections. No prior experience in zine making, climate action or adaptation work is requiredโ€”just bring your curiosity, your favourite creative materials and an open mind.
