About this Event
Stand-up comedian Tom Mayhew (as heard on BBC Radio 4) has been on-and-off benefits leaving school. He entered the adult world amidst the first financial recession of his life; he's since made it a hat-trick. This is a story of rejections, the JobCentre, being working class, and fighting for your place in the world. With lots of jokes.
'Authentic material we can relate to: funny, sharp, intelligent, meaningful and pleasing. Mayhew is a voice that needs to be heard.’
★★★★ Chortle
‘Genuine, powerful, political stuff. Comedy shining a light on some grim, unjust places.’
