About this Event
Have you ever felt invisible?
Or wished you could disappear?
This is a paradox many of us navigate every day. Our need to be seen conflicts with our need for safety; our longing for connection bumps up against the fear of exposure.
Join us in the In/Visibility Lab for a lively exploration of this very paradox. For over 25 years, artist and facilitator Gabrielle Senza has investigated the phenomenon of invisibility as a lived experience. This workshop starts from a place of personal erasure—by inviting you to briefly write and reflect on your own experience—to explore our universal need for belonging. It unfolds from a personal monologue into a shared, participatory inquiry.
A Performance Lecture & Workshop on Belonging
Blending live performance, original music, and guided audience interaction, this gathering examines the complex forces that make us visible or invisible to one another, and how those forces define the boundaries of our belonging.
Assisted by 'Lab Technician' Dan Ruderman, Gabrielle facilitates a container for collective witnessing.
In the In/Visibility Lab, we don't seek simple answers. We create a space for deeper questions: When does visibility mean connection? When does it mean risk? And how can understanding this dynamic help us see ourselves—and each other—more compassionately?
This gathering is designed for:
- Anyone who has navigated the complex dynamics of being seen or unseen.
- Advocates and community builders interested in empathy and authentic connection.
- Individuals looking for meaningful, creative dialogue.
You'll discover:
- A new perspective on visibility in your life.
- The connection found in shared, creative questioning.
- The opportunity to contribute to the Archive of Invisible Things.

A Note From Your Host
The In/Visibility Lab was born from a long-term artistic investigation into one of humanity's most fundamental conditions: the longing to be seen, heard, and appreciated. After facilitating this work internationally, I am now offering small group sessions in my Berkshire studio and other intimate spaces in the United States. This is a laboratory for creative inquiry and human connection, designed for those who feel called to explore these questions in a thoughtfully held environment. ~ Gabrielle
