Die aus Istanbul stammende, in Berlin lebende Komponistin und Klangkünstlerin Hüma Utku erforscht, wie Klangtexturen und Rhythmus genutzt werden können, um ein Gefühl von Archaischem in moderner elektronischer Musik zu erzeugen. Hierfür nutzt sie Feldaufnahmen, akustische Instrumente und tiefe Texturen, die sie in harmonischen Lärm und harte, ritualistische Rhythmen verwandelt, um Geschichten zu erzählen. // Andrew Black, aka blackbody_radiation, hat ein feines Gespür für Raum und die damit verbundene Akustik und konzentriert sich auf die Manipulation von Feldaufnahmen. Sein Debütalbum Ultra-Materials enthält sechs geisterhafte Drones, welche einen Einblick in Blacks hochsensiblen Minimalismus geben.

Hailing from Istanbul, the Berlin based electronic music composer and sound artist Hüma Utku explores the possibilities of how sound textures and rhythm can be used to evoke a sense of ancient within advanced electronic music. To achieve this, she uses field recordings, acoustic instruments, and deep textures, transforming them into harmonic noise and harsh, ritualistic rhythms for storytelling. // Andrew Black, aka blackbody_radiation, has a keen sense for space and its associated acoustics, focusing on the manipulation of field recordings. His debut album Ultra-Materials features six haunting drones that provide an insight into Black’s highly sensitive minimalism.
