About this Event
The vagus nerve is the longest cranial nerve in the body, extending from the brainstem down through the neck and chest and into the digestive system. A healthy vagus activates the body’s calming pathways, reducing stress and anxiousness. It also engages the cholinergic anti‑inflammatory reflex, signaling immune cells to dial down unnecessary inflammation that can lead to cardiovascular disease, autoimmune and neurodegenerative disorders, cancer, diabetes, and other ailments.
Along with exercise, a healthy diet, and other lifestyle changes, hypnotherapy can serve as an effective means of promoting a healthy vagus nerve which can result in a wide range of physical and emotional benefits.
During this workshop, Valerie Martínez, Certified Medical Support Clinical Hypnotherapist (CMS-CHt), will introduce you to the vagus nerve and its remarkable capabilities, as well as lifestyle changes that support a healthy vagus. She will explain hypnosis and how it works (which is nothing like what is portrayed in stage shows and fictionalized accounts) and then guide you into a hypnotic journey that promotes a healthy vagus nerve including breathwork, vocal and throat stimulation, and therapeutic imagery.
