About this Event
Hymns Reimagined
My name is Erica Nwachukwu, known artistically as Eva Supreme. As a Dark Matter resident, I’ve had the space to study, question, and deepen my relationship to Black sacred sound. Tonight’s performance, Hymns Reimagined, is the culmination of that exploration.
Thank you for joining me as we close this chapter together.
Step into a layered performance experience rooted in sacred sound and Black diasporic memory. 🌿
Hymns Reimagined weaves together reimagined hymns, live vocals, storytelling, movement, and multi-genre expression — spanning opera, blues, jazz, gospel, and R&B. 🎶
What unfolds is not a concert, but a journey:
a reimagining of the songs that carried generations through survival, remembrance, resistance, and return. 🤎
Through shifting soundscapes and embodied performance, these sacred traditions are revisited as living force — revealing the depth, ingenuity, and spiritual intelligence that continue to shape music across the world. 🌍
Come witness the layers.
Come feel the lineage.
Come experience sacred sound — reimagined. ✨
