The reason for this community meeting? How do you feel about the UK Government's response to Jamaica to date? Its relief funding increased from £2 million to £7 million but we feel it shoudd be much, much more. Jamaica deserves more. Britain’s response to the climate emergency in the Caribbean has been woefully inadequate.
We are demanding that our UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer commits £50 million in emergency aid — not charity, but climate change responsibility.
These will be the 4th and 5th national meetings, following powerful assemblies in London lcations Brixton and Tottenham, plus Wales.
Now Preston and Manchester have a chance to step forward and engage.
These meetings are for:
▪️Caribbean communities
▪️Climate justice campaigners
▪️Faith groups
▪️Trade unionists
▪️Students
▪️Anyone who believes Britain must do better
Come to listen.
Come to organise.
Come to apply pressure — together.
