We are honored to host Yaka Banu & Nawá Siã of the Huni Kuin people for a powerful evening of music, prayer, and connection in Portland.Traveling from the Brazilian Amazon, these spiritual leaders carry the songs and traditions of their people across continents, offering a direct transmission of culture, ceremony, and relationship with the living forest.
The Huni Kuin, meaning “The True People,” are one of the largest Indigenous nations in Brazil. Their traditions are rooted in deep ecological knowledge, ceremony, music, and storytelling. After generations of resilience through colonization and land displacement, they are now in a period of cultural revitalization, sharing their teachings globally while advocating for the protection of the Amazon.
This evening is an invitation to listen, to feel, and to connect. It is also a fundraising initiative in support of the Huni Kuin people, creating a bridge of reciprocity between communities.
