The night begins with It Follows, in which Jay, a Detroit teenager, discovers that a brief sexual encounter has tied her to a fatal curse that can only be passed on to another lover. A figure that only the cursed can see walks toward her at a steady pace, wearing any face, appearing at any distance. Jay and her friends move through quiet suburbs and crumbling spaces, trying to understand the rules while the film folds in the anxiety of sexually transmitted fear, guilt and responsibility.
