Join us in conversation with Andrew Copson, Chief Executive of Humanists UK, for a fascinating exploration of humanism’s potential role, from guiding individual life choices, to building better communities, to delivering global justice. There will be time to hear from and question Andrew on a range of topics, including:
> How humanism can inform individual ethical choices and our understanding of what it means to live a good life.
> How humanist communities can act as drivers of social participation and connection.
> Humanists UK’s work promoting humanist values, human rights, and equality, while providing services that support the non-religious in leading happier lives.
> The global rise of religious authoritarian movements, their implications for the politics of religion here in the UK, and what lessons can be learned from humanist activists around the world.
The event’s title takes its name from the third humanist manifesto, which affirmed humanism as an evidence based, progressive, and wide ranging philosophy of life with implications for personal, social and environmental justice. This conversation will invite our community to consider our own aspirations, and the role Haywards Heath Humanists can play in building a better world.
