About this Event
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reports that the number of displaced people is at its highest ever – surpassing even post-World War II numbers. Many of these individuals are seeking asylum around the world, including the United States.
Join us for our symposium this August to learn what you can do as a healthcare professional or student to help with this cause.
The symposium features talks from an experienced clinician expert who will speak about their ongoing work to preserve human rights in the South Florida area. Dinner will be served at the start of the event.
We invite you to also visit the Hostile Terrain 94, located on the 9th floor of the Gordon Center throughout the semester and brought to you by the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Human Rights Clinic of Miami. HT94 is a global pop-up exhibit put on by the Undocumented Migration Project, a non-profit organization based out of Los Angeles, that is a long-term anthropological study of the complex social process of undocumented migration at the U.S./Mexico border. Please check our website humanrightsclinicofmiami.org for workshop dates to be a part of this participatory exhibit.
