About Poverty Truth Commissions (PTCs)
Poverty Truth Commissions aim to bridge the gap between those who experience poverty and the decision‑makers in society. They ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are centred in shaping policies and programmes that seek to address poverty.
Each Commission brings together two groups:
- Community Commissioners: Individuals with direct lived experience of poverty
- Civic Commissioners: Leaders from local government, businesses, and community organisations
Together, they work to create meaningful, sustainable change.
