About this Event
A Partnership with TCC’s Native American Student AllianceHuichol beadwork is a vibrant, intricate technique created by the Huichol people. Tiny glass beads are glued into a beeswax base on wooden forms. Each bead is placed individually by hand, forming mosaic-like patterns. In this workshop, you'll learn this accessible technique and get started on your own project, led by artist Johnnie Diacon. Johnnie is an award-winning artist of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Deer Clan. He is a graduate of Bacone College and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe.
