The iconic Huff N’ Puff Road Race is returning in 2026 to challenge competitors in a race against a historic steam engine. The Huff N’ Puff event offers two options; a 6.7km run from Buxton Station to Thirlmere Station and a 3.5km Family Fun Run from Couridjah Station to Thirlmere Station, both taking place on the morning of Sunday 24 May.Competitors and spectators will enjoy an exclusive steam train ride from Thirlmere Station to Couridjah Station for the Family Fun Run, or to Buxton Station for the competitive race. Participants will disembark to commence their return race against the steam train.
The Huff N' Puff run experience includes:
- Museum entry to the NSW Rail Museum in Thirlmere
- A Steam Train Ride to Couridjah or Buxton Station
- Race Entry (Race Bib and Timing Chip)
- 6.7km race from Buxton Station to Thirlmere Station and 3.5km Family Fun Run from Couridjah Station to Thirlmere Station
- The opportunity to race alongside a historic Steam Engine
