About this Event
We've been having a spree of fabulous folk acts coming through Amarillo on a Sunday afternoon -- so let's keep the energy going with a matinee performance with Nashville-based at (2717 Stanley St., Amarillo) on Sunday, May 24th. Doors will open at 2:30p CT, and we'll start the show at 3p CT. This is a DONATION SHOW, so please bring $15 cash (per person) for the band. Proceeds go to the band, with a stipend for the venue to help keep the lights on. Thanks to our local sponsors, we'll have some cookies from Pan-Handlers Cafe, as well as some hot coffee from Palace Coffee Co.
Not familiar with Goldpine? Here's some info!
It's been a minute since we've had Goldpine's Kassie and Ben Wilson with us in HPPR land, but they've played in Amarillo twice with HPPR, and they've performed live onat the old studio. We're excited to welcome them into our NEW STUDIO SPACE at Arts in the Sunset for a livestreamed performance—for those of you who can't make it to the Texas panhandle for the concert.
Ben calls their style “aggressive Americana,” with performances as authentic and intimate as they come. The band is touring with their new album, titled , so tune in to HPPR to hear some of the latest tracks.
MORE ABOUT THE BAND (from their website): Bold + gold harmonies straight from Nashville. Winner of the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Contest and seen on NPR's 'Mountain Stage with Kathy Mattea' and the KC Chiefs National Anthem, Goldpine's brand of “aggressive Americana” is a flawless channel for their bold and reminiscent compositions. Husband and wife of 16 years, Goldpine has just released their third album, appropriately titled Three, which collects stories of sorrow, tested-love and space-trips. Mastered by Dave McNair (Shovels & Rope, Lauren Daigle), the album was captured from a mash of actual live performances on the road in 2024, showcasing the duo’s live energy as you would experience it straight from the stage. “…sharing a sound that’s cast in honesty, emotion and homespun sentiment…the songs say it all, providing clear indication that Goldpine has established a precious standard.” -Lee Zimmerman (Goldmine Magazine)
