Every time we ride our horses we are either helping them progress or setting them back. If you care about your horse you never intentionally want to set them back! Hopefully NO ONE who rides horses wants to intentionally set them back! However, it still happens and progress can become a challenge or frustrating for many riders.Over the last 10 years of teaching hundreds of riders I have found the biggest misunderstood topic is their horse's BALANCE.
I get it. Balance seems boring. Your horse has 4 legs and he's usually pretty good at standing upright, so he's balanced all the time, right? Well, it goes way beyond that and my goal from this event is to open a discussion about how balance is keeping you from progressing with your horse.
We will discuss how to visualize balance watching horses go, what good bio-mechanics look like, how to differentiate a "frame" versus a horse really working through their back, and what to feel for when riding your own horse.
This is an interactive workshop in a classroom setting. No horse required.
OPTIONAL: Feel free to bring a video of you riding so we can address what balance issues you and your horse may have.
This is included in all CT Dressage Academy riders' tuition but is open to the public at $50 per seat.
