Celebrate The New Year With Fresh Air & Amazing Scenery!11am | Meet at the Nature Center
The First Hike will be with Ranger Russ on the Moraine Trail.
This is a half-mile moderately challenging hike, with rocks to step over and around. You will learn what a moraine is and how it came to be. You may spot birds or other wildlife along the way, so bring your binoculars!
The Second Hike will be with Bob Kuchta, Madison's former tree warden. Bob will share his knowledge about the trees in the park. The walk will either be on the Cedar Island Trail or the Willard's Island Trail, depending on the size of the group. This walk is flatter and less strenuous than the Moraine Trail hike.
11am to 3pm
Visit the Archeology Road Show Inside the Nature Center. The public is invited to bring artifacts, rocks, or fossils, and our archeology friends will attempt to identify them and tell their stories.
