How We Dine Is How We Live — The Ground Table
After months of dinners, conversations, shared recipes and encounters around the table, we wanted to close this season with something simpler, slower and more collective.
The Ground Table is the final edition of this season of How We Dine Is How We Live.
No curated menu this time.
No fixed host.
Instead, everyone brings a cooked dish to share.
For one evening, both floors of Socialoftas will become one large shared home shaped collectively by the people who have passed through this space over the past months — through food arriving from different kitchens, conversations unfolding naturally between rooms, and strangers slowly becoming familiar.
Some dishes may carry memories of home. Others may be improvised from what was found here. Some recipes may have travelled across borders and changed along the way. Others may have remained exactly as they were.
This evening is less about presentation and more about presence.
A simple gathering built around generosity, hospitality and the idea that a table becomes meaningful because of the people who gather around it.
What to bring:
— One homemade dish to share
— If possible, a small note with the name of the dish and where it comes from
— Comfortable indoor shoes or socks
The atmosphere will remain warm, intimate and intentionally simple: candles, music, floor cushions, shared tables, tea, conversations and slow movement between the two floors of the studio.

The table is built collectively — and those who wish to support the continuation of spaces like this are always warmly welcome to contribute a little more.
