About this Event
Most freelancers don’t struggle because they lack talent—they struggle because they lack clarity.
When asked, “So, what do you do?”, many default to brain-dumping job titles, tools, and services in a way that feels scattered, confusing, and forgettable. The result? Missed opportunities, lukewarm referrals, and potential clients who don’t quite get it.
In this workshop, brand consultant Shena Nicole helps freelancers move from rambling explanations to clear, compelling messaging that actually sparks curiosity and attracts the right audience.
Drawing from real coaching experience, Shena will guide attendees through a simple framework to synthesize what they do, what makes them different, and why it’s valuable, without overexplaining or dumbing it down. This session is equal parts mindset shift and hands-on clarity work, designed to help freelancers speak about their work with confidence, ease, and intention.
Whether you’re pitching a client, updating your LinkedIn bio, or introducing yourself at an event, you’ll leave knowing exactly how to say what you do, so people instantly understand, remember, and want more.
Key learning outcomes:
- Identify why “word vomit” happens and how confusion in messaging reflects internal uncertainty—not lack of skill
- Distill what they do into a clear, concise core statement that’s easy to understand and repeat
- Articulate what makes them different without relying on buzzwords or generic titles
- Translate their work into benefits, so audiences understand why it matters, not just what it is
- Use a repeatable framework to tailor their message for conversations, bios, pitches, and introductions
- Speak about their work with confidence, clarity, and intention—without overexplaining or rambling
