Learn to read music to help you sight-sing in a choir or play your favourite song or piece of music from sheet music scores in a fun and supportive environment.
This course is suitable for those who have some musical experience and also for complete beginners and who would like to be able to understand the principles of pitch and rhythmic notation. Although the course is aimed primarily at singers instrumentalists are equally welcome if you would like to find out how to read notation, lead sheets or chord symbols to help improve your musicianship or even compose your own music.
The course is very interactive with both practical musical and written work in class and there will be homework every week to help you progress quickly with your notation reading. You will need to bring a pencil and eraser to class and purchase a new copy of ‘Practice in Music Theory’ Grade 1 by Josephine Koh. (Wells Music Publishers). £8.99
