The purpose of this workshop is to inspire you to create puppet shows. This workshop is not intended as a step by step on how to create a puppet show, because there is no one way to puppet! Our hope is that by the end of this workshop you have the tools to create a show and are excited to do so! Bread Box Theatre operates within both the punk and puppetry traditions. Some cool things about being a puppeteer is that you can hide behind a stage, a mask, a stage name. Perfect for the shy introvert or the boisterous extrovert, even the occasional balanced ambivert. Want to be in a band, but aren’t musically gifted? Puppetry is a way to perform and reproduce and interact with counterculture! Almost every form of art can be incorporated into a puppet show! You can create solo shows or work with friends! You can do traditional fair or experiment with the avant-garde!
