FREE for Kaipātiki Local Board residents. Bring your friends and family to join us in this kauri protection training.
Kauri dieback disease is a serious problem in New Zealand. On this training, you will learn more about the problem and what we can do to stop this plague from spreading.
This is a combined training that has 2 sections:
1) The kauri care for homeowners section runs for about an hour. We recommend anyone with kauri on their property to join in, or if you are simply interested in understanding the disease and maintaining the health and safety of our precious taonga.
2) The kauri dieback certification section of the workshop will run from 11:00am to 1:00 pm.
This part is focused on upskilling volunteers to safely continue to work in areas with kauri. The certification will allow you to enter the reserve in the case of kauri dieback closures.
Sponsored by the Auckland Council Kauri Dieback team.
