About this Event

Join Us In Person!

Join us in the Mabo Room at AIATSIS, for a practical and engaging half-day workshop

This practical and engaging half-day workshop is designed to help participants achieve stronger outcomes from Indigenous cultural awareness training.

Across the APS and private sectors, significant time and investment has already been made in cultural awareness training. This workshop focuses on how that investment can deliver greater value by strengthening the way training is facilitated, received and applied in practice. Drawing on extensive delivery experience, it explores why the same training can produce very different outcomes depending on the facilitator, the audience and the approach taken.

Why attend?
Participants will gain practical insights, real-world lessons and proven strategies to:

  • Improve participant engagement and learning outcomes
  • Strengthen the effectiveness of cultural awareness delivery
  • Translate learning into meaningful workplace practice
  • Enhance impact across policy, programs and service delivery environments

National Reconciliation Week focus
As part of National Reconciliation Week, this workshop highlights the critical role that capability development plays in advancing reconciliation. It provides APS and private sector participants with a practical opportunity to build the understanding, skills and confidence needed to contribute to reconciliation in consistent and meaningful ways.

By improving the quality and impact of cultural awareness training, participants are better equipped to support respectful relationships, informed decision-making and stronger outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Who should attend?
This workshop is suitable for APS and private sector staff working across policy, programs, service delivery, HR, leadership, community engagement and related business areas.

Call to Action
If you are looking to move beyond awareness and achieve more meaningful, measurable outcomes from cultural capability initiatives, this session offers practical tools and insights you can apply immediately.
