*IMPORTANT INFORMATION*

The zoom link to access the webinar is sent on the email registered at the time of registration and in a reminder email sent by the CPRLV two days before the event. It is also recommended to check if it is not in the junk mail.

The webinar "Resisting conspiracy theories and hate speech in times of crisis" addresses the issue of periods of crisis as contexts conducive to the emergence of conspiracy theories. However, one question remains difficult to answer for both professionals and the public: how to engage in a dialogue with people who adhere to these theories, when the usual argumentative tools do not seem to bear fruit? The CPRLV proposes a webinar that allows participants to better understand the appeal of conspiracy theories for certain individuals and to reflect on the needs met by this type of discourse and movement. The webinar also aims to orient learners towards practices that help them to welcome and dialogue with a person who spreads or adheres to conspiracy ideologies.

Specific objectives:

  • Recognize conspiracy theories
  • Identify the political and social issues involved
  • Learn the helping postures to support a person who adheres to conspiracy theories
