About this Event

How Resilent is Cambridge?

How will the climate crisis impact Cambridge and how prepared are we?

This series of evenings is the start of a public conversation about the challenges and opportunities that Cambridge faces, from a systems thinking perspective. Hear presentations from a selected panel of experts on each topic, and ask your questions.

* Exact dates and topics TBC *

Jan 21 - Food

Feb 12 - Circular economy

Feb 25 - Flooding

Mar 12 - Energy dependency

Mar 26 - Communications

Apr 8 - Community systems

All days 5-7pm, at the Guildhall in market square and online. When you select your tickets, please choose whether you will attend online or in person. All tickets are free.

For each topic, we are asking:

  • What type of crisis are we facing, what constraints are we working under?
  • Who is currently working on solutions?
  • What other preparations are worth making in advance, and what additional support do we need?

A team of 3-4 experts will give presentations of their expertise and perspectives. This will be followed by questions from City and County Councillors, community groups and schoolchildren, as well as questions that have been submitted in advance, and questions taken from the room and online chat.

Submit your questions in advance here.

Throughout the events, there is a focus on networking and collaboration. We will make available a list of grants and funding opportunities and strongly encourage partnerships to form and community groups to apply for funding to implement the solutions that will be discussed.

A summary report of the presentations as well as a full list of the questions asked will be made available to the public and to the council.

May 28 - Report launch and networking event
