Linn County Sheriff's Office. Linn County SAR is not just a life-saving unit—it has grown into the leading mentoring program in Linn County, shaping the lives of countless teens for over 30 years. Youth in SAR work directly alongside deputies, learning invaluable skills while contributing to critical rescue missions. We’ll explore how Linn County SAR utilizes D4H software to streamline operations, enhance mission efficiency, and support their life-saving efforts. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how technology is driving both mentorship and rescue!

About the Linn County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue

Linn County, located in Albany, Oregon, is nestled between the Willamette River to the west and the Cascade Mountain Range to the east. As of 2020, the county had an estimated population of 129,749 and spans 2,309 square miles. With its temperate climate and diverse landscape, Linn County offers residents a wealth of outdoor recreational activities such as fishing, camping, skiing, boating, hiking, and rafting.

The Linn County Search and Rescue (SAR) unit is composed of dedicated volunteers who assist the Sheriff's team in life-saving missions to locate missing individuals. Since 1990, these volunteers have contributed over 100,000 hours of service to the Sheriff's SAR efforts. Additionally, they run a mentoring program for teens, creating a youth SAR team that works alongside the adult volunteers.
