This talk shows how Hovi Care operationalises the evidence-based FINGER model in day-to-day elderly care. The original Finnish randomised trial demonstrated that a multi-domain lifestyle programme, including nutrition, physical activity, cognitive training, and cardiovascular risk management, can slow cognitive decline while improving overall health. Hovi Care translates these findings into an end-to-end ecosystem (Home Care, Hovi Club Day programmes, Assisted Living, and Hovi Online) built on three pillars of wellness: Social, Cognitive, and Physical, supported by rehabilitation and nursing. We map the model’s five fingers to a two-session daily schedule: healthy meals/snacks; movement and workouts; brain training, music, and sensory activities; social engagement through circle time and group work; and heart-health monitoring via Hovi Assessment. We also share client grouping, individual tailoring, and AI safety nets to enhance feasibility and scalability.

Steven Wong is Managing Director of Hovi Care (Singapore), a senior-care leader with 30 years in senior management across entrepreneurship, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, and eldercare. He brings cross-industry discipline to designing person-centred programmes that enhance seniors’ holistic well-being, integrating clinical insight with community-based services and meaningful engagement. After a successful corporate career, he transitioned into senior care to make a direct, positive impact on the community. Steven champions authentic, values-driven leadership, empowers team efficacy, and pursues practical innovation so services are dignified, engaging, and sustainable for the people who rely on them.
