Learn the do's and don'ts of indoor plants! Instructor Tassy de Give, author of Rooted in Design, will discuss how to choose the right plant for your indoor environment and troubleshoot potential plant problems. Whether you are a first-time plant owner or are looking to expand your knowledge of your existing collection, Houseplants 101 will give you the know-how and guidance for improving the life of your plants. Environmental factors, plant identification, and general care techniques will be discussed. This in-person class will also include a potting activity where students will be able to pot up their own houseplant to take home!
Tassy de Give is a plant enthusiast and instructor who has worked in the horticultural field for the past 15 years. She co-authored her first book in 2015 entitled Rooted in Design and is currently working on her 2nd book. Tassy has been a featured guest and writer for the Martha Stewart Living Radio Show, Elle Magazine, and DesignSponge. In 2020, she opened a Floral & Garden shop in Brooklyn, NY called Geometry Gardens and she is currently the Plant Director for Glasswing Greenhouse in Seattle, WA.
This in-person class will be held at the Center for Urban Horticulture.
