House of Mourning

The House of Mourning transforms Truss House into a sanctuary for personal and collective reflection. This two-day immersive exhibition and performance investigates the universal experience of grief and its transformative power.

On Friday December 19 the House of Mourning opens. The installation invites visitors to confront, express, and transmute their grief through mixed media works, spoken word, and music. A data-driven generative soundscape and video envelop the space in shifting layers of memory and emotional texture. Visitors are invited to contribute their own statements of mourning, allowing the installation to evolve as a living archive of shared experience.

On Saturday evening, the contemplative environment shifts into a performance venue where poets and musicians activate the space through spoken word and experimental sound, transforming the exhibition from static reflection into living ritual.

Supported in part by a grant from the RiNo Art District, The House of Mourning is free and open to the public.
