About this Event
Follow @austinmusiclove on Instagram to discover more local Austin music.Details
Nothing says Austin more than a concert at someones house with some local musicians sponsored by local businesses. We've got a gracious host, two talented artists, and some sponsored beverages. It's shaping up to be good times. And most importantly, a great way to support local music!
Big thank you to Dulce Vida Tequila (a local Austin brand) and Topo Chico for sponsoring beverages!
Stop in for some drinks and local music and be sure to bring some cash to tip the artists. Please RSVP as well as space is limited. Showing a bit early would definitely help you lock down a chair for the show.
We will be indoors for this one so it should be a nice cozy vibe. See y'all there!
Food and Beverage
You're welcome to BYOB if you'd like. We will have sparkling water sponsored by Topo Chico and cocktails sponsored by Dulce Vida Tequila, a local Austin brand.
Music of the Night
Coined ‘Janis Joplin and Tom Jones’ love child’ by Asheville NC’s Mountain Express, Austin transplant Zach Blew has performed on stages all over the southeast and Midwest (Schubas & McCormick Auditorium - Chicago, IL, The Grey Eagle & Jack of the Wood, Asheville, NC), his original compositions appeared on PBS (The Thread Project), and his work heard nationwide as voiceover actor for clients including Subway Restaurants, Verizon Wireless & Scion Vehicles.
In 2009, Zach released his first full-length folk album, Tonight in This Motel. Zach’s second album, Away at Sea (an alt-folk ambient soundscape) is set to be released in the Fall of 2023.
Nik Parr’s original music is a high-energy piano-driven rock n’ roll endeavor with strong soul, funk and blues influences. Parr’s band is built around his piano playing and singing, with an ear for catchy, danceable and widely appealing new songs. The show is made even more unique, as Nik switches seamlessly from the saxophone to the piano in between singing, working the crowd, and directing his band.
For five years, Nik Parr toured with his full band under the name The Selfless Lovers. The group performed well over one-hundred shows per year. At first, these shows spanned Texas, with concerts everywhere from Lubbock and Amarillo to South Padre, Corpus Christi, San Antonio and of course, Austin. As the band progressed, they played out of state, with performances in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia in addition to their regular Texas touring.
The group’s current roster includes longtime drummer Daniel Warner, lead guitarist Keegan Flynn, bassist Evan Durr and guitarist Mishaun Bhakta. The band’s newest album “When The Bars Close,” showcases bassist Augie Gmitter in addition to backing vocals by Kelly Khun and Tory Niemann.
