Hi, I’m Mela - Melanie Dekker— coined in Europe as “Canada’s voice like chocolate.” I grew up in Deep Cove, North Vancouver, with Dutch roots that run deep and a love for music that’s taken me all over the world.
I’ve made 9 albums (including my Canadian hit “I Said I” and my 2021 Christmas release “The New Old Fashioned Way”), and I get such a kick out of blending heartfelt storytelling with guitar—and sometimes banjo!
Over the years, I’ve had the joy of sharing the stage with Diana Krall, Bryan Adams, Russell Peters, and Faith Hill, but honestly, what means the most to me is the connection I get to share with you at each show. My concerts are about warmth, energy, fun tour stories, and songs that lift your heart.
And then there’s my sensational sidekick, Allan Rodger—multi-instrumentalist, producer, and unapologetic Stratocaster super fan. Together, we’ll take you on a ride that warms you up… and then fires you up.
