About this Event
About the event: The intention of this class will be to explore movement, expression, and freestyle within House music. Mark 'Hippie' Sanchez (he/him) will help students develop a relationship with the music first and let the movement/expression come from deep listening. He will also seek to help students move from doing "style" based movement into a unique and authentic expression when dancing to any style of music. This class is for all levels and welcome to all!
Hippie will also be talking about their annual Soul Movement Retreat.

Mark ‘Hippie’ Sanchez (he/him) has been a part of the Bay Area dance community for over 20 years and received a dance degree in his studies while in college. He has been a Wellness Coach for over 15 years and weaves mind/body/spirit teachings into what he shares with others. Mark has also been a student of the house music/dance culture and has found his authentic expression through being a part of this community. Mark seeks to help others on their journey through dance as a way to find their authentic selves and purpose in life. To him dance is much more than steps and moves, it's a way into our Soul, a way to connect to spirit, and a vehicle for deep personal/collective transformation.
Hippie is the creator and producer of SOULMOVEMENT RETREAT, a 3-day dance retreat in the beautiful Gaia Tree Sanctuary located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains on Miwok Land.
