Carnival time is a highlight of The Houghton Feast and will be showcasing the “Magic of Houghton.” Come along and watch this colourful community production managed and co-ordinated by Houghton 41 Club with support from Sunderland City Council Events.
Featuring children from local schools, community groups, Ukraine dance group, the pipes and drums of Houghton Pipe Band, Houghton and Pittington brass bands, The Bangshees marching drum band, both classic cars and motorbike enthusiast groups, vintage steam traction engines, carnival floats, Billy Purvis the clown, the ZAZZ dancers and Stage Door Academy - plus costumed characters!
The procession starts at the Library car park and will travel along Newbottle Street into The Broadway (where you can listen to the narration) before ending at the Dairy Lane entrance to Rectory Park.
