Members of Houghton & Lambton Banner Group will be on hand in the Welfare Hall to share their knowledge about the history of the many mining banners on exhibit there. The 21 year-old Houghton Colliery banner is the town’s 7th and was made in 2004 using funds raised by Patricia Simmons and the late George Rowe. It is paraded every year at Durham Big Meeting but this is your chance to see it up close in its home town.
Free entry to the public.
