Francis Saunders and I have been running a play writing course for 6 weeks out of 8 - 3 hours every Thursday from 6 to 9 pm - The course is like no other - It really helps to tun it from inside a REAL THEATRE - At the end of the course each member will have am original unique 20 minute play firmly under their belt - It's been so successful and rewarding for Francis and I that it seems very silly not to run another one - This is what Deborah Kearne has to say about it ' I’m so glad that I joined the Hot Tap playwriting course. Directed by the playwright Dean Stalham. Each night has a reading of a short play, a writing exercise and then you start the steps to your own 20 minute play that will be performed in Hot Tap’s very own theatrical space.
You see your own work’s birth, adolescence and then see it kicking and screaming on the boards.
Dean takes you to the playwright’s road signs, but lets you make the decision on the direction taken. Your classmates give their thoughts as they read your lines as you listen. He allows your soul to seep into your play without Artificial Intelligence.
Dean is ably helped by his right hand man Francis and other visiting playwrights. Dean has released over 20 plays and is currently working on a television series.
This is not just a playwriting course. This is the Hot Tap playwriting course.
