Following the release of their new album ‘Again, Again’, Melbourne rock band Hot Glue will hit the stage in Canberra for one of their first interstate shows. Made up of siblings Lily (she/her) and Pearl Harnath (they/them) with Henry Lucas (he/him) on drums, the band uses shoegaze-y, fuzzy guitars and loud, heavy drums to accompany reflective lyricism in a bittersweet and cathartic manner.Their new album 'Again, Again' is the band at their grittiest and most honest. Over the ten tracks, the band delve deep into the cycles they find themselves in throughout life, both destructive and productive. There is comfort in repetition and also frustration, all of which is conveyed through raucous and tender moments. The result is a textured set of fuzzed out songs that ultimately see the band finding comfort in the relentlessness of life’s cycles, twists and turns.
Having played at Brunswick Music Festival, Mordi Fest, I OH YOU’s Kennel Districts nights and supported the likes of Body Type, Carla Geneve, and Jess Ribeiro, Hot Glue continue to impress at live shows.
