About this Event
Please join us in the West Room of Nine Orchard for a spectular human safari as we celebrate Gotham's most successful mammal, Homo sapiens.
We are honored to be joined by two of New York's finest specimens, filmmaker John Wilson and musician Molly Lewis as we explore some of the more idiosyncratic behaviors of our strange species with an evening of screenings and a special performance.
--
John Wilson is a filmmaker best known for documenting the strange habits of humans of his fellow New Yorkers in the acclaimed HBO series How To with John Wilson. He is the director of a number of other short films including Temporary Color, Escape from Park City, and The Road to Magnasanti.
Molly Lewis is a recording artist and world-champion whistler based between New York and Los Angeles. Described by the New Yorker as “part Snow White communing with the birds, part haunted theremin”, Lewis creates ethereal soundscapes that evoke the exotica and smoke-filled jazz clubs of a bygone era.
