Welcome to Hornindal Rundt — Norway's toughest mountain race🏔️ The people of Hornindal have a long history hiking to mountain posts scattered across the peaks surrounding this small village in western Norway. That tradition has grown into one of the most demanding mountain races in the country.
The race has three different distances:
🏃75 KM ULTRA 📈5,600m elevation 📍20 mountain posts
20 mountain checkpoints surrounding the village of Hornindal. More elevation than climbing Norway's tallest mountain twice from sea level. Start and finish at Honndalshallen.
🏃♀️ 38 KM MOUNTAIN RACE 📈2,800m elevation 📍10 posts
The south side of the round. Starts at Horndøla Bru, finishes at Honndalshallen. Bus transport from Honndalshallen at 10:15.
🏃♂️ FJELLMILA 12 KM (NEW in 2026!)📍2 posts
Perfect for those who want to experience Hornindal Rundt on a shorter course. Starts at Grøthåjen (Lidavegen 3), passes posts 19 and 20, and finishes at Honndalshallen. Bus transport from Honndalshallen at 11:15.
All distances finish at Honndalshallen.

Friday, July 4th:
🕕 18:00–21:00 — Registration open (Honndalshallen)
🎤 19:00 — Race presentation (Norwegian)
🎤 20:00 — Race presentation (English)
Saturday, July 5th:
🕕 06:00 — Registration open
🕖 07:00 — Start 75 km (Honndalshallen)
🚌 10:15 — Bus transport 38 km from Honndalshallen
🕚 11:00 — Start 38 km (Horndøla Bridge)
🚌 11:15 — Bus transport Fjellmila from Honndalshallen
🕛 12:00 — Start Fjellmila (Grøthåjen)
WHAT TO EXPECT:
The course weaves through peaks, valleys, and untamed nature. You'll pass historic mountain farms (sætrar), cross ridgelines with views of Europe's deepest lake, and push through steep trails.
