Heidi DeRosier will lead us in a warm and engaging class as we journey through America’s history of immigration, with a special focus on the experiences of those who passed through Ellis Island. Students will gain a glimpse into what it was like for immigrants arriving in a new land, full of hope, challenges, and opportunity.Through fun, interactive games and group activities, we’ll explore the “Melting Pot” concept and discover how many cultures have blended together to shape American life—including family values, work ethic, traditions, and food.
This hands-on experience encourages participation, creativity, and meaningful discussion, helping history come alive for all ages. We’ll end our time together with a delicious fondue party as we celebrate the blending of cultures—just like the melting pot itself!
