From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday Nov. 3 2025 join Hope & A Future for their annual Homeruns for Hope Softball Tournament at Cactus Yards in Gilbert. Admission is free and everyone is encouraged to sign up play or cheer from the stands.
The tournament brings together 11 teams so far consisting of Arizona’s Cheesecake Factory and North Italia teams and for the first time a team representing Hope & A Future including young adults who have aged out of foster care.
The event will begin with opening remarks from Michael Brewer founder and CEO of Hope & A Future followed by the national anthem performed by one of Hope’s foster youth. Then five current and former foster youth will take the field for the ceremonial first pitch.
Games will be played across five fields narrowing down as the tournament progresses. Fans can relax and enjoy a full lineup of activities including cornhole yard games and a raffle with prizes such as $100 $50 and $25 gift cards. A new silent auction will feature sports-themed prizes including Colorado Rockies Spring Training tickets and festive fall baskets.
The event traditionally raises over $10000 to fund Hope & A Future’s programs. Additionally funds raised directly support their Annual Christmas Party and Gift Drive an event that truly means the world to the kids they serve. Many of these youth including those currently in foster care or recently adopted have never experienced a joyful Christmas before. This event helps make that possible. including their Annual Christmas Party and Gift Drive providing gifts meals and meaningful holiday experiences to Arizona's foster care children.
