Hey-ah!As some of you know, my Dad is coming for a first-time visit, which I'm really excited about. Before he goes back home (March 5th), I'd like him to meet all of you. And what's better way than a picnic?! Meeting you all at once is gonna make his 80-year-old head spin, but he'll get over it. He's a tough cookie. The last picnic (vol. 8.1) gathered close to 50 participants, so let's see if we can beat that.
For those who have never been to this before, here's some "rocket science level" rules, so take notes:
1. Bring a rug/mat to sit on.
2. Bring food to eat/share.
3. Bring a good mood.
But "Hoops 'n Games" are more than this. Having a downtime is just one option. Another is to move around a bit, burn some calories, and still have fun. The park provides opportunity to play ball games (basketball, soccer etc.), frisbee, outdoor gym, tennis and swim. As always, everything is casual, and no professional level are required. Note that the tennis and swimming pool facilities are available for a fee.
LOCATION:
It's about 3-minute walk from the Central Station. Some free all-day and 2-hour parking is also possible on backstreets nearby.
LUNCH:
12:00 in the grassy area at one of the tables, just behind the pool. Bring a plant-based meal to share and your own plates and cutlery. There's a barbecue and water fountain available.
EQUIPMENT:
Bring something to sit on. Basically any kind of equipment you think could be useful in that scenario. If you have some card or board games (Monopoly, Scrabble, Twister etc.), please bring 'em too.
ATTENDEES:
Feel free to invite your friends. The more, the merrier! You don't have to be vegan to attend the picnic, but please make sure your meal doesn't contain any animal ingredients. It's also a drug-free event.
