This workshop will include some hands-on. Time will be split with half spent going in-depth into designing and building hoop-houses from scratch (not a premade greenhouse kit) for the challenging climate of the high deserts of Utah. Attendees will receive comprehensive details on the parts, vendors, and prices of greenhouse components with a preference for materials easily sourced from a local hardware store.The other half of the time you will learn how Red Acre Farm grows year-round at nearly 5900 feet with a 60-day growing season despite the high fluctuations in weather conditions and persistent high winds. Soil health will be discussed, attendees will receive comprehensive details on how to plant what and when, where to buy seeds and plants.
