About this Event
Meet up with other Mahjong beginners and learn the game! Sawyer will walk you and 11 others through Hong Kong Mahjong, and start you off on your gaming journey. Sets, tiles, and racks will all be provided!
Hong Kong Mahjong is a simpler variant of Chinese Mahjong, and it shares a lot of DNA with Gin Rummy. It’s very fun and fast paced! Hong Kong Mahjong has a much simpler scoring system than traditional Chinese variants, so it is great for beginners!
Seating is limited to 12 guests. We will meet at Chaotic Good Cafe at 200 W 84th St on the Upper West Side of NYC. We do ask all attendees to purchase at least 1 drink during their time at Chaotic Good.
